While I have photographed a wedding at Shaughnessy restaurant before (which is on the property) this was my first time shooting a ceremony inside the actual VanDusen wedding venue. Its a special place as my father design this unique space. The exposed concreted and recycled wood beams along with all the natural light makes taking wedding photos a lot of fun. Ron and Kristin chose to have their wedding in the fall which meant all the leaves were changing colours. It was stunning! Kristin got changed in a private room inside building before the first look happened at a nearby pond. We explored the grounds for more wedding portraits before heading back inside for the relaxed ceremony. The reception took place at nearby Italian Cultural centre but not before we snuck in a few more wedding photos with their VW van.
