I still have more pictures from South Africa to share (+ videos) but thought I’d change it up a bit. I’ve wanted to put up pictures of this wedding for a while. There are a bunch of em so it’ll be two wedding posts then back to some African action.

I’ve known Holly since grade 6? I remember the first time she brought Gio (Giovanni) to a party. I thought he had cool style. As things would have it they got engaged and one day I got a facebook message from Holly.  I was in the car with some friends at the time and remember saying “Holy crap! Holly wants me to take her wedding photos!”.  I was stoked. You see,  they are both aspiring actors and there’s just something about them that always made me want to have a photo shoot with them.  They know how to pose, and make it look natural.

I was looking forward to this wedding like crazy. Not only did I get to shoot an awesome couple that also happened to be my friends but I got to do it in front of a bunch of my other friends…show them what I loved to do. It was a very cool moment for me.

I slept through a few alarms (I literally set eight) and was in a mad rush to make it to Holly’s house in time on the morning of. If I was in a rush, the Pillsbury household sure wasn’t.  Slowly going about getting ready, it could have been any other day. Even when things got behind schedule, people were totally chilled out.

The ceremony was amazing. Inspiring. Honestly, I was very moved and motivated by the passion and love Gio and Holly have for each other. I’m usually good at staying focused but more than once I had to catch myself getting caught up in what was going on. I have a job to do =)

Holly and Gio – You guys killed it. Just like I said you would. Thanks for asking me take photos of such a great, important day. It meant a lot to me and I’m humbled that you entrusted me with it. I know you love the photos and that makes me even happier – some of them are my all time favorites.  See you soon.

I have to give big props to my second shooter for the day, Tanis. She’s a great photographer and really fun to work with. Looks like we both have busy schedules next summer but hope to work with you again!

The next few are from Tanis’ perspective. Perfect!

This last one is why I was so looking forward to photography them. That look!
