If you are planning your wedding at the Bloedel Conservatory in Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver or any other intimate wedding venue in Vancouver and still need a photographer I would love to hear from you. Please use the contact form at the top of the page or email me directly at mf@mathiasfastphotography.com. I am currently booking Vancouver and Cape Town weddings for this year and next.

Surrounded by jungle and with hundreds of birds providing the soundtrack, Thomas and Any got married in front of their closest family and friends. The Bloedel Conservatory in Queen Elizabeth Park is the perfect spot for an intimate indoor wedding ceremony, especially during the winter. Stepping inside, the humidity and warmth transport you another country and it’s pretty much like having a tropical destination wedding in the middle of Vancouver. Thomas and Any decided to have their ceremony early in the morning before the conservatory opened to the public. The soft light coming through the dome made for beautiful Bloedel conservatory wedding photos and the quietness of having the place to ourselves was amazing.

The Bloedel conservatory is a very unique wedding venue in Vancouver but they do have some specific rules that couples need to follow. Wedding ceremonies can only take place outside of general opening hours. This gives you the option of having an early morning ceremony or one later in the day. Depending on the time of year you want to have your wedding, the sun could have set by closing time. For this reason I would suggest having your Bloedel conservatory wedding in the morning. Thats exactly what Thomas and any did and the light was incredible! An evening wedding can also be beautiful however and if you’re interested in that option take a look at Inna and Mitch’s fall wedding. While the Bloedel conservatory is perfect wedding venue for those on a budget, they are not a wedding reception venue. The seasons in the park restaurant is directly adjacent to the conservatory however and a very popular (and beautiful) wedding venue itself. Lastly, the great thing about having your intimate wedding inside the Bloedel conservatory is the options you have for your wedding photos. If it’s raining inside you can choose to take indoor wedding portraits but if the sun is shining you have the expansive gardens outside. Both provide some of my favorite spots for Vancouver garden wedding photos!
