Thanks for stopping by!
If you are interested in having your engagement photos taken in Pacific Spirit Park or any other forest location in Vancouver and still need a photographer I’d love to hear from you. In addition to engagement sessions I am booking Vancouver and Cape Town weddings for this summer and next.

Given the incredible natural beauty of Vancouver, it’s easy to see why most of my clients ask to take their engagement photos in a forest – most often Pacific Spirt Park. With an extensive network of trails through 750 hectares of old growth forest, the location is about as typical pacific northwest as it gets. What makes the park one of my favorite locations for engagement sessions is that dogs are allowed off leash. Golya and Nathan took full advantage and brought their elegant weimaraner along. When dogs are involved I always try for one classic “family style” portrait but a majority of the session is candid. The weather was cold and overcast as we headed down a trail off of Marine Drive. Shooting in the forest on a cloudy day can get tricky at times because of the limited light but also very rewarding. Despite never having professional portraits done Golya and Nathan made my job incredibly easy and needed little direction. Always a joy to photograph a couple who are so obviously at ease when they’re together. After exploring a couple different areas of Pacific Spirit Park we finished the engagement session along the water by Spanish Banks dog park. Just as the sun sank beyond the horizon the clouds parted and we were witness to an incredible sunset which made for some dramatic portraits. Very much looking forward to their wedding in Kelowna next summer.
