A wedding on Bowen Island is like no other (especially if Steampunk is the theme of choice!). Accessable only by ferry, this tiny island is a stone’s throw away from Vancouver but feels like a world away. The slow pace of life forces one to relax and is the perfect spot for an intimate wedding. Actual wedding venues are scarce (Bowen Island Lodge being the only one) so most weddings take place on private party. Elliot’s parents happen to live on the island and their beautiful backyard was the perfect spot for his and Brandi’s steampunk themed wedding. The entire day was incredibly relaxed and started with Brandi having her hair done at a salon in town. The first look took place nearby and afterwards we took wedding portraits by the ocean. Bowen Island is an incredible backdrop for a wedding and there are plenty of beaches to choose from for either a ceremony or your portraits. For Brandi and Elliot’s ceremony and reception we headed back to the family property. Their intimate Bowen Island wedding was witnessed by only the closest family and friends, many who were dressed up for the occasion. The reception featured long tables that wound their way through the overflowing garden. The setting couldn’t have been more perfect. Already looking forward to my next wedding on Bowen Island!
