A few thoughts from the bride and groom:

1. What did you love about your Vancouver wedding venue?
Our favourite thing about The Loft at Earls was the location. It is so convenient and we knew the food would be good (and it was!). We wanted a place where we could have the wedding ceremony and reception without having to move our guests around. The open floor plan made it easy for our guests to mingle and there was enough space for our other vendors too.
2. Favorite/Funniest memorie(s) from the day
There were so many memorable moments from the wedding it is hard to just choose one. Jan’s favourite moment was the conga line that went around the room and through the photobooth. Esther’s favourite moment was seeing Jan cry multiple times haha! Only because I thought I would be the one who couldn’t hold it together but it ended up being him!
3. What advice would you give you future couples
In terms of relationships, marry your best friend! In terms of wedding planning, it was helpful for us to set aside time once a week for a coffee date where we could sit down and tackle the to-do list together. That way, we were able to divide the tasks up more equally. The best advice I got during the planning process was to hire a day-of coordinator so we did! It was the best decision because they can just make the day go by so smoothly and we could just enjoy our wedding day.

Ever since Esther and Jan’s  Granville Island engagement session where they couldn’t stop laughing I had been looking forward to their downtown Vancouver wedding. The Loft at Earls Yaletown was the backdrop for both their wedding ceremony and reception and what a venue it is. If you’re looking for a unique Vancouver restaurant wedding venue the loft could be the one. Prior to the ceremony Esther and Jan had a tea ceremony at the Marriott Parq Hotel. The hotel is one of the newest and nicest in the city and very conveniently located just a short walk from the Loft. Following a first look inside the Marriott Parq Vancouver we headed outside for some wedding photos in Yaletown. Yaletown has a great mixture of old and new architecture and is my favorite place in Vancouver for urban wedding portraits. The wedding ceremony at the Loft at Earls Yaletown took place in the private room upstairs. The brick walls and hanging string lights made for an incredible atmosphere. Following the ceremony guests made their way to and adjacent space for cocktails while the ceremony space was flipped for the reception. This was my first time shooting a wedding at the Loft at Earls Yaletown and I loved all the unique touches throughout the space. The stylish decor and large windows throughout made for some unique Loft at Earls wedding photos. The wedding reception was held back in the private room with guests dining at two long tables. Following speeches and an incredible dinner everyone heading back to the lounge for dancing. Already looking forward to the next time I get to photograph a wedding at the Loft at Earls Yaletown in Vancouver!
