Marjan and Ricky couldn’t have picked a more classic venue than the Hart House Restaurant for their wedding in Vancouver. I started the day at Marjan’s house in White Rock where she was getting her hair and makeup done by the fantastic Vanessa Parto. Marjan wanted a makeup artist that had experience with Persian brides and they don’t come better than Vanessa Parto. It was a very relaxed and peaceful morning – Marjan the epitome of calm. Ricky eventually made his way to the home for the first look inside. Marjan came walking around the corner and Ricky’s face instantly lit up. It is photographing candid moments like this that truly make me love being a wedding photographer. Following the first look we headed off to a private photo location in Delta that I had scouted the week before. I always try to get unique wedding photos for my couples and the abandoned greenhouse was perfect. Further wedding photos at Deer Lake park followed. While a very popular location (especially during the summer) Deer Lake park has a few lesser known spots that I prefer to bring my clients to. The large trees and tall grass made for an incredibly beautiful setting. Having such great wedding photo locations nearby is what helps make the Hart House one of the top wedding venues in Vancouver. The excitement once we arrived at the Hart House restaurant was palpable – especially once the six matching flowergirls showed up. The excitement on their faces was a beautiful thing to witness. Persian weddings always have a luxurious feel to them and this was no different – most evident not only though the decor but also the guests’ attire. Marjan and Ricky’s wedding ceremony at Hart House took place on the back lawn with Deer Lake as the backdrop. They shared their vows under a natural birch tree arch covered in flowers in a perfectly relaxed and candid ceremony. One of my favorite parts of the day was watching Marjan and Ricky head back to the restaurant with their six flower girls in tow. All wedding receptions at the Hart House Restaurant take place in the outdoor tent and what a reception venue it is! The permanent tent is a great option for those wanting an outdoor wedding without having to deal with the actual tent setup/rental.The white draping on the ceiling instantly gives every wedding a luxury feel. The existing decor was supplemented chiavri chairs and gold and white centerpieces. Each guest left with matching custom made macarons as wedding favors.  Marjan and Ricky’s wedding entrance was one of the more unique ones I’ve gotten to witness, with many guests lifting Ricky high in the air as he made his way to the sweetheart table. Throughout the evening guests came up and shared touching memories of the bride and groom and soon enough it was time for their first dance. My day finished soon after the dancing kicked into high gear and as I walked the trail back to my car I was already looking forward to the next Persian wedding at the Hart House.
