Thanks for stopping by!

If you are interested in an engagement session at Crab Park or in Gastown I’d love to hear from you. Please use the contact form at the top of the page or email me directly at mf@mathiasfastphotography.com. In addition to engagement photos I am booking Vancouver and Cape Town weddings for this year and next.

Crab Park is one of the favorite locations to shoot engagement photos in Vancouver. Located near the end of Main street along the water, it has unique backdrop of both the Vancouver skyline and the North shore mountains. While the buildings and nearby railroad tracks lend an urban feel to engagement photos, the ocean and trees also make it quite a natural setting. The variety and the creativity that it allows is the main reason I love shooting Crab Park engagement photos. As the park is essentially in their back yard it made sense for it to be the backdrop of Bram and Susie’s engagement session. We took candid engagement photos throughout Crab Park before heading into Gastown just as the sun started to set. My favorite time of day in Gastown is right after the streetlamps come on. There’s still a little bit of light left in the sky and the warm glow of the lamps makes for a stunning setting. Wet pavement from an afternoon shower added to the vibrancy of the neighborhood and the results were some of my favorite Gastown engagements photos to date.
