While the Rosewood Hotel Georgia in Vancouver is a very popular spot to get married, the York Room in Hawksworth Restaurant is somewhat of a hidden gem and the perfect spot to have a romantic wedding. Overlooking the Vancouver Art Gallery, the York Room offers one of Vancouver’s most exceptional private dining experiences. As the Rosewood prefers to state – its a mixture of Old world charm and modern elegance. The colour palette of the room allows for a variety of wedding styles but Jeannie and Paul might have done it best with their romantic floral filled vision. Garden Party Flowers did an incredible job with the blush and white flowers and combined with the golden candelabras it made for the most romantic wedding reception setting. Framed by a feature window along one of the walls, their gold and white wedding cake was a showstopper and one of the most beautiful I have ever seen. The York Room at Hawksworth Restaurant is catered toward intimate weddings with a maximum capacity of 63 people. The space oozes elegance and the stunning chandeliers (which the room was designed around) are the main reason why. A bar at one end and all the modern technology you need make for the perfect restaurant wedding venue. Voted the Best Restaurant in Vancouver,  Hawksworth Restaurant serves up some of the most incredible meals – one more thing your wedding guests will be talking about for years to come.

Just around the corner from the York Room is the main Ballroom at Rosewood Hotel Georgia. The Spanish Ballroom showcases the venues original craftsmanship and despite being situated in the heart of Vancouver it transports wedding guests to another place and time. The ornate details are exquisite and the minstrel balcony romantic.  Allowing for 16o seated guests, the Spanish Ballroom should definitely be on your list of wedding venues should you be looking to throw an extravagant celebration. Before having their intimate wedding reception in the York Room at Hawksworth Restaurant, Paul and Jeannie held their ceremony at the Celebration Pavilion in Queen Elizabeth Park. Following the ceremony we took wedding portraits throughout the gardens before heading to the Vancouver Art Gallery. The space in between the Hotel Georgia and the gallery is some of my favorite to shoot wedding photos in downtown Vancouver. The sun bounces off all the surrounding windows and provides an incredible opportunities for creative portraits. Paul and Jeannie were up for anything and when a band started to play nearby they broke into an impromptu dance. After a quick freshen up in their luxury hotel wedding suite they made their grand entrance. The reception in the York room couldn’t have gone any better – the perfect mix of hilarious and emotional moments.
