Most famous for its high concentration of bald eagles, Brackendale is also the perfect town for a backyard wedding. Lori and Cam chose her grandfathers property in the middle of town for their relaxed rustic Brackendale wedding. Brackendale shares the same scenery as Squamish and the surrounding mountains and forest make for some pretty epic wedding photos. After their first look on a nearby Brackendale farm, we headed to the spit in Squamish for wedding photos. Due to the normally high winds, the Spit is popular with kiteboarders. We lucked out and got a calm overcast day which made taking candid wedding photos easy. Squamish doesn’t have much in the way covered areas in the event of rain and as primarily a natural light wedding photographer I was happy to see the forecast change the day before the wedding. The backyard wedding ceremony was also held on the property and was followed by lawn games and cocktail hour. Just before the reception started we headed out again for a few more wedding photos in Brackendale. This time the aptly named Paradise valley road provided the backdrop. The winding road through old growth forest is easily my favorite spot to take wedding photos in Squamish. The backyard wedding reception in Brackendale followed and was full of hilarious speeches. As the evening grew cold a bonfire awaited guests and soon enough it was time for me to leave. Already looking forward to my next outdoor wedding in Brackendale!
