My first Bulgarian wedding at the Brockhouse Restaurant in Vancouver was something else! Sean and Iva wanted candid wedding photography coverage for their celebration and with everything going on throughout the day it made my life easy. We started the day off at a friend’s home in nearby Kitsilano before heading to Jericho beach for their first look wedding photos. We explored some of the lesser visited parts of the park before making our way back to the Brock House for their wedding ceremony. All the wedding ceremony photos I have taken up to this point at Brock House have been in front of the massive oak tree. Sean and Iva wanted a slightly different backdrop so they had their planners shift the arch (made by her father!) so the ocean and mountains were the primary focus. The setup made for great framing and resulted in some unique wedding photos. The expansive lawn behind Brockhouse is perfect for cocktail receptions but this one was a little different thanks to a surprise from Iva’s mother. Unbeknownst to the couple she had arranged for a Bulgarian wedding dance routine that eventually got everyone involved. It was a blast to shoot and once again resulted in the candid wedding photos that Sean and Iva were after. The reception was more of the same, with plenty of hilarious speeches that had everyone laughing.
