Venues don’t come much classier than Hycroft Manor or the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel. These incredible spaces were the backdrop for Chantal and David’s outdoor ceremony and indoor reception. After guests had taken their seats in the rose garden the hilarious officiant Lani Brunn got everyone excited for what was to follow. As the musicians began to play Chantal made her way down the steps on the arm of her father. The ceremony saw happy tears turn into laughter and soon enough Chantal was walking back up the stairs on the arm of her husband. Wedding portraits on the immaculate grounds followed, including a few in my favorite room in Vancouver. The photo opportunities at Hycroft Manor are endless but Chantal and David wanted a mixture of new and old so we headed downtown for a few more portraits in an urban setting. Coal Harbour Community centre provided the perfect backdrop with a mixture of cool concrete spaces and the north shore mountains off in the distance. The wedding reception was held in the stunning Emerald Ballroom at the Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel. Paige from Spotlight Events and Heather of Myrtle et Olive transformed the space into a romantic scene full of candles, chandeliers and florals. The look on Chantal’s face when she first saw the room was priceless. Speeches throughout dinner had everyone in stitches and soon it was time for the first dance. In the glow of candlelight and surrounded by their family and friends, David and Chantal started off their marriage in style.

Grateful to my good friend and one of the best wedding photographers in Vancouver Sachin Khona for helping me out on this one!

I was in a unique position to photograph this wedding at the Fairmont Pacific Rim in Vancouver as I helped open the hotel back in 2010. I can attest to the level of service they offer and its second to none. There are plenty of beautiful hotel ballrooms in Vancouver and while the Pacific Rim has a couple of the best, it truly is their service that sets them apart. The food is incredible and every request is met with a smile. On to the details. Many of the hotel rooms offer unobstructed views of Stanley Park and the north shore mountains with even the smallest being spacious. That said, I’d recommend upgrading to one of the Gold floor corner suites where the personalized service is an absolute treat. There’s no better wait to start off your wedding day then by getting ready with your best friends while looking out at one of the more beautiful views in the world. Another option is starting off your wedding day with a relaxing visit to the Willow Stream Spa, regarded by many as the best in the city. Wedding ceremonies and receptions are held in one of the many ballrooms. The main rooms are great for larger weddings but my personal favorite is the Emerald Ballroom. The wedge shape of the room is unique and surround primarily by floor to ceiling windows. It is an absolutely stunning and versatile room.
