Harm and Kiran’s indian wedding in Vancouver was epic. Harm is someone who shoots weddings himself so it was an honor to be able to capture his wedding. My week with them kicked off with a Maiyan at Kiran’s family home. The energy, sense of family and stunning colours are what make photographing Indian weddings in vancouver so much fun for me. The bride and groom both got ready at their respective homes on the morning of their wedding ceremony before heading to the India Cultural centre in Richmond. It was an Indian wedding venue I am quite familiar with, having shot a number of weddings there and also having grown up close by. Following the ceremony Harm and Kiran exited the Gurdwara to flowers being thrown by their family and headed off in a classic car. We spent the next hour taking Indian wedding photos at Terra Nova Rural Park. Following their portrait session we headed back to Kiran’s home where her family was waiting to symbolically “give her away”.
