Thanks for stopping by! If you are planning your wedding at Vrede en Lust Estate in Franschhoek or any other wedding venue in the Cape winelands and still need a photographer I would love to hear from you. Please use the contact form at the top of the page or email me directly at email@example.com. I am currently booking Cape Town and South Africa weddings for this year and next.
Vrede en Lust Estate is easily one of the best wedding venues anywhere in the Cape Winelands but especially in Franschhoek and Stellenbosch area. I recently photographed a wedding at this Cape Dutch style venue and wanted to share a review of sorts. I usually start a wedding day photographing the bride and her bridesmaids getting ready and this day was no different. Vrede en Lust Estate has the ability to accomodate up to 40 guests in either the spacious manor house, the Jonkmanshuis cottages or the luxury vineyard rooms. If you are planning an intimate wedding at Vrede en Lust Estate ALL your guests could stay at the same venue making for a weekend to remember. The Manor House is in the Cape Dutch style and a truly luxurious and spacious acommodation. The cottages are all self contained suites and can each sleep up to four guests. The luxurious vineyard rooms are a recent addition to the accomodations at Vrede en Lust and perfect for couples wanting to spend the night together. This bride and groom kept things traditional and saw each other for the first time during the actual wedding ceremony, held on the lawn surrounded by flowers. Its a perfect place to say I do with the mountains in the background and the natural surroundings providing privacy. Summer weddings in the cape winelands can get hot and I highly suggest providing your guest with parasols or fans to keep themselves cool during your outdoor wedding ceremony. While many wedding venues in Franschhoek have views of the surrounding moutains, Vrede en Lust Estate makes you feel like your right at the base of them. The mountain backdrop at Vrede en Lust Estate makes for epic wedding photos, especially once the sun starts to set. While photographers usually want to be shooting shortly before the sun actually goes down, I recommend scheduling your sunset wedding photos for an hour or so prior to sunset as the mountains block the light earlier than some places. Guests enjoyed cocktails on the expansive lawn next to the reception venue as we took portraits of the bride and groom in the vineyards surrounding the property. The reception space at Vrede en Lust Estate is one of the most unique of any wedding reception venues in Franschhoek or Stellenbosch. The floor to ceiling glass walls give you the feeling on being outdoors while being indoor. Summer days can get hot in the winelands and your guests will be very grateful to enjoy your wedding reception indoor in the air conditioned space. Vrede en Lust aptly calls this space the Vineyard terrace and it suites the venue perfectly do to its positions right in the middle of the acres of vines. While I always suggest hiring a wedding planner, Vrede en Lust Estate does provide their couples with a wedding co-ordinator to help ensure that your dream wedding comes to fruition. While there is no need to leave the Vrede en Lust Estate property for wedding photos it is situated in the middle of the cape winelands which means you’re spoilt for choice when it comes to portrait locations. Located approximately an hour drive from Cape Town, Franschhoek is one of the most picturesque places in the world and and incredible place to plan your dream destination vineyard wedding. Vrede en lust estate is in the heart of this region and when you combine the location with an unparalleled level of service and luxury there are few better choices for your cape winelands wedding.
