If you are planning an adventure wedding in Manning Provincial Park or any other location in British Columbia and still need a photographer I’d love to hear from you! Please use the contact form at the top of the page or email me directly at mf@mathiasfastphotography.com. I am currently booking Vancouver and destination weddings for this year and next

I’ve taken many wedding photos at Manning Park and the weather has always been so different. Amanda and Kyle chose to have their ceremony on the windy shores of Lightning Lake and although it proved to be a challenge keeping the vows and veil from blowing into the water it also resulted in some hilarious moments. Afterwards we headed up to one my favourite places to shoot (in the world!) but were stopped well before the Alpine Meadow because of the snow pack. We headed back down the mountain in the freezing rain and only jumped out of the car for photos once a rainbow decided to appear :) After driving to a few different locations in the park we finished at a rundown cabin I had scouted earlier in the day. I loved everything about the scene except for some unsightly junk on the road in front of the cabin. I could have gone and removed it all but decided to get creative instead and used my phone to reflect the trees over top of the road. It resulted in one of my all time favourite wedding photos and even placed in the annual Junebug Destination Wedding Photo Contest.

A few words from the bride on her experience working with me: “Working with Mathias was a dream come true for me because, I had actually been looking for rustic wedding venues in BC on Google, when I found the most breathtaking photos( of a wedding he shot on Lightning Lake at Manning Park) which led me to his page. I instantly booked that venue and sought to get in touch with him.

From the first coffee meeting we loved Mathias. He was super approachable, easy to talk to and very professional. He instantly got our vibe of wanting something very rustic and relaxed and gave us wonderful input and suggestions on how to proceed.

On the wedding day, he was so helpful and since he had shot there before he knew exactly where to go and get the best lighting but, at the same time, he was also happy to take photos of what we had specifically asked for as well. I always felt super comfortable and natural.

Some of my favorite photos are the ones he came up with on the spot and were very spontaneous. I can’t imagine our day now without those iconic pictures(one was even featured in a wedding blog) and how much fun, laughing and adventure went into them behind the scenes. I ran through thick forest brush and dirt in my long lace dress, and climbed up a ladder to a two storey abandoned cabin/shed. We took pictures between the downpour of rain on a mountain top and caught a photo with a rainbow. By the end of it my dress was filthy but it was incredible and I wouldn’t have had it any other way.

Thank you Mathias for a lifetime of wonderful memories!”
