North Vancouver is one of my favorite places in the city to shoot engagement photos. The diversity of locations it offers is what made Rachel and Gabe want to make it the backdrop for their session. We started off at the Capilano River Regional Park, just up the road from the another great engagement session location – Capilano suspension bridge. Capilano River Park is located in a canyon just down from the salmon hatchery which makes it a popular spot for fishing. While the water’s edge might get busy the rest of the area is usually very quiet. The whole area has a very wild feel to it and it’s quickly become my ideal spot for forest engagement and wedding photos in Vancouver. Rachel and Gabe wanted a more urban feel for the second part of their North Vancouver engagement session so we made our way down to Lonsdale Quay in time for sunset. The large pier adjacent to the Quay is one of the best spots to take in the sunset and the backdrop of the Vancouver skyline makes for epic engagement photos. On a previous trip through North Vancouver I had seen an art installation that I thought would make for unique engagement photos so we finished our session there. We lucked out with an incredible sunset – the perfect ending to this North Vancouver engagement session!
